🌟 A Proud and Rewarding Experience at Hendon Police Training College 🌟 Recently, I had the privilege of supporting the training of new police recruits at Hendon by taking part in a series of role-play scenarios. These included acting as a suspect in a mobile phone theft, a person causing nuisance to members of the public, and a domestic abuse incident.
The purpose of these exercises is to help recruit officers develop the skills, confidence, communication, and professionalism they need when dealing with real-life situations on the streets. Throughout the sessions, instructors closely observed each scenario, providing valuable feedback and guidance to help the officers learn, improve, and achieve the best possible outcomes for the public.
I was honoured to share my experience, thoughts, and feedback with the recruits. Having served the Metropolitan Police Service for 24 years, it was incredibly rewarding to contribute to the development of the next generation of officers.
What made the experience even more special was the positive feedback I received from both the recruits and the instructors. The officers told me that my involvement helped them feel more comfortable and confident, and that they genuinely enjoyed working with me. Some even said that my role-play felt like "real-life policing" and that I had helped make them stronger and better prepared for their future careers.
The instructors also praised my contribution and expressed their appreciation for my support and commitment to helping train new officers.
I truly enjoyed every moment of this experience. It was challenging, inspiring, and deeply rewarding. Knowing that I could help build confidence, encourage learning, and support future police officers is something I am very proud of. Being able to serve as a positive role model for new recruits is a privilege, and I look forward to continuing to share my knowledge, experience, and passion for policing whenever I can. 💙 After 24 years of service, I remain as proud as ever to support, inspire, and help shape the future of policing.
